After leaving the Marine Corps, Fowlkes worked with JIEDDO (Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization). In this organization, Fowlkes served as a Department of Defense contractor, working in Iraq with the United States Army. He was responsible for educating and training soldiers in areas such as hostage rescue, evidence collection, and interrogation techniques for captured individuals.

After serving the United States in the military industry, Ronald Fowlkes went on to join the law enforcement industry. He worked as a police officer for St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for ten years and for the St. Louis County Police Department for three years, combating gang activity and making the St. Louis area safer. During his time as a police officer, he also was an instructor in different areas for the department. Ronald Fowlkes is not only a man of action, but also a man of sharing through training new officers.

After leaving law enforcement, Fowlkes’ business ventures was about making not just St. Louis safer, but making all of America safer. American Institute of Architects (AIA) Names Its New Executive Vice President/CEO

     Robert Ivy has been named by the American Institute of Architects’ board to be the organization’s new Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer with effect from February 1, 2011. The umbrella that covers certified architects and relevant professionals, AIA has continued to serve the U.S’s design and construction sector since 1857.

Prior to his appointment, Robert has since 1996 served as the Editor in Chief of Architectural Record. He also doubled as the McGraw-Hill Construction’s Vice President/Editorial Director tasked with managing the organization and its affiliate publications. Before climbing to corporate executive roles, Robert Ivy served as Ivy Architects’ principal and Dean/Dale’s managing partner for about 14 years. In 2009, he was presented with the Crane Award due to his huge contributions to the business media in the United States. A year later, Robert was recognized by the Alpha Rho Chi as the Master Architect for his role in increasing design awareness among members of the new generation.

Robert is a respected figure in the United States’ architectural industry. Village Voice Media executives, Jim Larkin and Michael lacey were taken from their homes in darkness on the evening of October 18th 2007 when they refused a Grand Jury Subpoena from Sheriff Arpaio’s Maricopa County to surrender personal information about the staff of the Phoenix New Times and its readership; in a clear attack on the First Amendment rights of the American public, the man who claimed to be “America’s toughest sheriff” called on members of Village Voice Media to provide the IP addresses of the readers of an article about the financial irregularities at Maricopa County’s Sheriff’s Department and a second article about the Grand Jury Subpoenas.

A national outcry from media outlets ensued and resulted in the release of Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin in under 24 hours and a Ninth Circuit Supreme Court decision going their way in 2012 with $3.7 million in damages used to start The Frontera Fund.
