American Institute Of Architect CEO Explains The Role Of Architecture In Public Health Issues

American Institute of Architects CEO Robert Ivy has been outspoken in his support of architecture and the benefit the profession brings to society. Mr. Ivy believes that architecture has the power to deeply impact society in a variety of areas including healthcare. Recently Mr. Ivy took a moment to expound on this idea.

Can You Give Us Some Background To Your Belief That Architecture Can Benefit Public Health Issues

Design has always played a vital role in public health issues in America. Take, for instance, the Olmstead design of New York’s Central Park. The initial concept was not necessarily borne of thoughts of recreation but more so with the idea of eliminating sub-standard housing and upgrading a part of the city that had traditionally been plagued with a specific set of challenges. Both the original idea for this design space and the results of its execution was the direct positive impact on public health.

It is also evident to me that the younger architects are more connected to the social issues of the day, with health issues being a large part of these social issues. I think more and more as these younger architects express themselves through their work they will provide even greater benefits in the realm of public health. However, it is important to not forget the historical basis of this issue.

How Do You Feel Architecture Can Directly Affect A Specific Issue In Public Health

There are a number of ways. Architects have the power to design buildings that promote physical exercise. This can easily be done by simply designing buildings that make it necessary to walk flights of stairs. This could greatly impact diabetes and heart disease epidemics that plague the nation.

Keep in mind also that basic design principles already take into account things like sunlight, clean water, and air quality.

Do Materials Used In Design Play A Role In Public Health Issues

Certainly. As designers, our choices in materials can have an immeasurable impact. Structures that are constructed with materials that adversely affect the health of human beings would affect a great number of individuals. And this is something that is totally within the control of designers and builders.

No joke!

Publicist Alexandre Gama is on fire, and that’s a literal understatement, but I think you know exactly what I mean when I say, “He delivers once again, and that’s no joke!” In fact, this proud Brazilian publicist has delivered some of the finest copy content on this side of the Brazilian seaboard, and that itself, my friend, is no laughing matter. He has worked on thousands of pieces in one week alone and can attest that his love and flair for the writing world are held in highest regards by his countrymen all around.

In fact, this alone is why Gama has had so many unique opportunities within his country. He has created. He has recreated. He has inspired, and he has motivated; the best part is that he has done all of these for more than 22 years and from the back of his own little office with his keyboard.

Karl Heideck – What Makes A Good Litigator?

A litigator is a person who takes a legal action against an individual or an organisation for his client. Accordingly, the litigator also protects his clients from any lawsuits. Often litigators are individuals we see in courtrooms arguing and presenting their cases to the judge. While a litigator usually holds a reputable professional degree, they must also pass a series of exams to represent their clients.

In fact, a good litigator should have many qualities. For instance, a lawyer requires the knowledge of the rules, doctrine and jurisprudence applicable to the case. If it is he who has brought the matter before the court, it is obvious that his pre-trial study will be more settled and will require less effort; but if the litigator is defending the client, they must conduct a thorough study of the matter before representing their client.

Proper management is also an essential skill. By knowing well in advance the date of intervention, the litigator must be prepared to face two fundamental phases of the case, which are presentation of evidence and drawing conclusions from the evidence. Accordingly, setting milestones for case preparation is a must because there is nothing more disastrous for a lawyer than to prepare a trial the day before the hearing except in cases where circumstances does not allow a litigator to do so.

Who Can Help?

If you require a litigator, it is important to hire someone who has experience in the field, and who is involved in extensive legal research throughout his career. Karl Heideck, a contract attorney at Grant & Eisenhofer is an excellent example of a litigator who has the required skills to take your case. Karl has extensive experience in reviewing discovery materials for complex securities fraud and banking litigation. He specifically focuses on issues related to transactions, acquisitions, risk management, and liquidity positions.

Prior to joining, Grant & Eisenhofer, Karl Heideck also worked in a multi-service law firm, Pepper Hamilton, which helped him gain knowledge of various litigation methods. For almost four years, Karl was involved in dealing with cases of pharmaceutical litigation, government investigation, white collar defense, bankruptcy restructuring, and construction contracts. It is also notable that Karl Heideck is a graduate of Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law.

How To Have Fun In Napa Valley That Doesn’t Involve Wine

Most people who go to Napa Valley as a tourist think that it’s all about wine in that region of the United States. There are actually many other activities to engage in and sites to see in Napa Valley that have nothing to do with wine at all.

If you’re a person with an eye for 3-D art, a visit to the Napa Art Walk is a must-see event. This exhibit features the work of artists from across the nation, some of which is for sale so be sure to bring your wallet. Another place to stop is the Napa Valley Historical Society which has numerous historical artifacts that have been found over the years in the region. The museum can either be independently explored or there are scheduled tours available that are led by local historical authorities.

Another place that’s off the wine beaten trail is the Silverado Cooking School. They have classes that can be completed in a day which helps people of every cooking skill level add some more flavor to their game. Classes are led by Chef Malcolm de Sieyes who has worked in some of the world’s top restaurant kitchens.

For those that do live a life filled with wine, Traveling Vineyard is an organization they should know about. Traveling Vineyard is a vintner that sells its wine through a national network of Wine Guides. Each Wine Guide operates their own home-based business. They schedule wine tasting events in clients homes that feature some of the wine that Traveling Vineyard sells. The client and their guests are then given the opportunity to sign up to buy the wines either as a one-time purchase or to set up regular deliveries.

Traveling Vineyard was established in 2001. The company was set up under the premise that most wine tasting events are far too stuffy and formal. The types of wine tasting that Wine Guides put on are meant to be less formal and a lot more fun. The Wine Guides learn all about the wines they sell and how to pair each variety with what food as well as plenty of other wine knowledge.
